Daddy's Birthday and Christmas Tree Lane

Tuesday was my handsome hubby's birthday.
He thinks he's so old, haha.
That's okay, makes me feel young.
(We're only a year apart)

We had some awesome friends take us out to dinner to celebrate
It was awesome!
But I swear, everyone and there brother were having birthdays on the same night.
Every time the servers would start singing their awesomely annoying Happy Birthday song anywhere near our table, the hubs would turn bright red.
It was a super fun game for the rest of us at the table, heehee.
But, eventually, he got his come uppance.
(And ice cream)

And, just because I'm twisted like that...

A jalapeno on a stick!

We also had some incredibly awesome kiddos with us
Look at those good looking guys!
Sports...drool...
But that's okay, the cutie patootie in the front makes up for the Football coma
Basketball?
Baseball?
Whatever...

And, here's the partial gang
No mommies
(Isn't that how it always works?)

Then we were due for CHRISTMAS TREE LANE!
My hubs thought it wouldn't be crowded because it was a weeknight
Bwahaha
Eventually we got there.
Eventually...

But partial, freezing cold, and crowded fun was had by all.
(Remind me not to walk Christmas Tree Lane again)

And... What the?!?!

Not sure what the message was there?

We got through about two thirds of the walk and we were DONE.
Kiddos were tired
Adults were tired
Hot chocolate was cold
(Biggest tragedy)

So now we say goodbye to Christmas Tree Lane
We may or may not see you next year.

Goodnight!

Next year, we are finding a new Christmas light spot

First Snow 2013-2014

It snowed!

At first, the kiddos were NOT interested in going outside. It was too cold and they did NOT want to have to bundle up.

I have to admit, I LOVE the snow.
From the inside.
With a cup of hot chocolate and a good craft.
Catch my drift?
Why do I NEED to be in the snow? I don't want to ruin it with all my boot tracks.
Yeah, that's it. Preserving the beauty.
*Wink, wink*

The next day it was bright and beautiful. The kids were ready to work.
That's right...work.

Along with the snow, we had an awesome onslaught of COLD. We needed firewood!
The awesome hubs went to work outside splitting wood.

The kids were there to help, errr...play!

Of course, the animals felt left out ;-)

It was a great day at home.
I need to keep the calendar open more often.

now i am two!

My baby girl turned two!
But honestly, I think she's been two all along. Went straight from the hospital to little Miss Independent.
Too fast. Way too fast.

She woke up from her nap and chose to start the festivities by opening her presents.
Is there any other way to do it?
Did I mention that we were also pushing through some back teeth during all of this awesomeness?
oh yeah...
That's how we like to party

She received a new doll high chair/bed combo from her great grandparents. It has since been used a LOT.

Brother even got a little something for putting up with her for the past two years.

Then it was CAKE TIME!

Yum!

I'm going to go finish off this cake.
Shhhh!

New Wheels

sometimes those not so fun trips are the most relaxing
we had to drive to King City to pick up our new wheels
what is King City, you say?
i would have to say that it is one of the worst towns i have ever visited
but we had to go
to pick up our new wheels
we visited Robert's aunt's house
i loved her house
it was so cute

robert's aunt had the most gorgeous backyard
so, of course, i had to try out my new nifty camera

it was so windy
Parker was trying to figure out what was going on
every time there was a wind gust, she would do a little happy/scared dance

Riley decided it was the perfect weather to save the world in
i love my bug
his playtime is so creative
he comes up with the best stories

Robert's aunt had some gorgeous plants that i had to shoot
the yellow daffodil above was one of the only blooming flowers in her garden

she also had a gorgeous blooming tree
i have no idea what kind of tree it was
...
but i want one

now, onto the main event...
our truck!
Robert was like a little kid at Christmas
it was so cute

the green one in front is ours
we traded the brown truck (the one in back) for the green one
the best part is
the truck only cost us $400
praise the LORD!

Robert's dad is a mechanical genius
he can fix anything
he completely rebuilt both trucks
by himself

there is definitely talent from that side of the family
i'm excited to see how it blossoms in my children

check me out in my new wheels

James 3:2

Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
